IDEA Awards Announced

The Ogle County Educational Cooperative Parents Advisory Board and the Parent Mentor Project would like to announce the 2010 IDEA Award winners. The IDEA Award is given to honor those who work with children with disabilities, in an effort to build positive relationships and partnerships within the school community. The 2009-2010 recipients are:

Susan Hofmann – Teacher, S.O.A.R. Program. Nominated by Cindy Belleque
“Susan’s classroom has a cheerful, positive atmosphere…”


Michel Williams – Chana Education Center. Nominated by Jane Hopkins
“Michel…works hard on her plans to bring creativity to the lessons…”


Rachel Vinyard – Teacher’s Aide, Nominated by Christine Wengelewski
“Mrs. Vinyard…a natural talent for working with children. She assists them with patience, kindness and professionalism.”


Melydi Huyett – RtI Coordinator and Reading Teacher, Polo. Nominated by Jonathan Thomas Stagg.
“…treats others with respect and consideration, …willing to go the extra mile for students when they need it.”


Jeanette Tartaglia – Teacher, May Elementary. Nominated by Marcy Primrose.
“She always has time to talk to me…and is willing to try new things.”
